My guess is that you are talking about a FAT16 partition.
As I understand it, NT can't read FAT32, but can read FAT16. If that is
true,
then you must have your Win98 partition formatted as FAT16. (You can verify
that easily by running fdisk.) My NT system is 100% NTFS, so I can't easily
check this.
