Hello,
I am a student like you, you can find an implementation of FFT in SystemC 
which is a C++ library for
architechture design, it is verry similar to vhdl, in their tutorial they 
give an inplementation of the FFT.
you can download systemC and it's tutorials from : www.systemc.org
