 Dear All,

      i have a confusion releted to 802.3ae clause 45

 
  i m implementing all the specified registers in seperate block , now my
problem is how the interaction between physical devices and corresponding
registers take place?

suppose i have PCS and PMA/PMD in physical , and there corresponding
registers are implemented in seperate block . Now , there should be
interaction between PCS , PMA/PMD and registers.

Will this interaction be serial via MDIO/MDC or parallel?

if it's serial via MDIO/MDC , than who will manage the situation in which
both PCS and PMA/PMD want to write something?

if it's parallel , than i'll have to include signals corresponding to
every bit of registers which have some meaning , so pin count out of that
block become a large.

Any help in this regard really appreciated
