SECRETARY, IEEE 802 SUBJECT: MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT, July 8-12, 1996 The July plenary meeting site for IEEE 802 will be at: University of Twente Enschede, The Netherlands during the week of July 8-12, 1996. Please make your room reservations directly with the University of Twente, using the Hotel Reservation Request Form attached. Please read the form carefully, particularly the reservation cut-off date and cancellation policies. Because the University will make your reservations with the hotel of your choice, please be very explicit about your accommodation requirements. Attached to this meeting announcement are two Hotel Summary Sheets outlining details of the hotels available. If you have questions regarding the hotels you may call Marloes Castaneda at the number indicated on the Hotel Reservation Form. Please bear in mind that the University is acting as our booking agent at no charge to the group. As this is an international meeting, and all reservations are being directed through the University, please book as early as possible to ensure accommodation. If you have made, or plan to make, your hotel reservation directly with the hotel and not through the University, you should be aware that neither the University nor the IEEE 802/CCI cannot be responsible for your reservation. Cut-off date for all IEEE 802 room reservations is Friday, May 31, 1996. Please note: Reservation requests received after this date will be accepted on a space available basis and will honor the 802 conference rates. DEADLINE FOR ALL ROOM RESERVATIONS IS MAY 31, 1996 We are pleased to offer two forms of registration for this Plenary meeting. You may pre-register by mail or fax using your credit card and the attached form, or register on-site. Please read the pre-registration procedures carefully. Plan to stop by the IEEE 802 Registration Office on Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. or Monday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. to register or collect your pre-registered package for the Conference. At that time you will receive the complete schedule for all of the week's meetings and events. There is a registration fee of $250.00 US which can be paid by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Card, personal check (US$), company check (US$), or travellers checks (US$), or US cash. All checks should be made payable to IEEE 802. Please note: only credit cards are allowed for pre-registration. Pre- registration deadline is FRIDAY, JUNE 14, 1996; forms received after this deadline will be processed at the meeting. The 802 Executive Committee will meet Monday at 8:00 a.m. and the 802 Opening Plenary session will begin at 1:00 p.m. For transportation and tourist information, see the Travel Directions flyer enclosed with this package. IMPORTANT! Electrical voltage in the Netherlands is 220VAC and the outlets are different, so please be sure to pack a converter for your small appliances and laptop computer. You should check with your computer manufacturer to see if you require a special transformer. Please take international adapters (Europe uses Continental-type plugs CEE 7/7 or CEE 7/4 for grounded and "Europlug" type CEE 7/16 for ungrounded), and one or more power bars/extension cords to set up a network of US outlets.
