With the BI Java SDK, you can build analytical applications that
access, manipulate, and display both multidimensional (Online Analytical
Processing, or OLAP) and tabular (relational) data. This is the
homepage for all the information you need to learn about and to
build applications with the BI Java SDK.
The BI Java SDK consists of a Java application programming interface
(API) in Java class libraries, documentation, and examples. The
applications you create can access, manipulate, and display OLAP
and relational data from diverse data sources.
The BI Java SDK provides an object-oriented framework in which to:
- Connect to a variety of data sources
- Access master- and metadata
- Create and execute complex queries
- Render and access query result sets
A driver-based architecture supports access to different data formats
using a variety of protocols:
- JDBC (Java Database Connectivity)
- OLE DB for OLAP
- SAP Query
- XMLA (XML for Analysis)
