Creating Subjects

On a use case diagram you can create a subject to separate a system from external actors.

To create a subject element, choose one of the following methods:

Using the diagram toolbar button:

1. Click the Subject button on the diagram toolbar.




2. Click on the diagram to create the element.




3. Resize the subject element by dragging the corner of the element to the desired size. The element expands or contracts in the direction of the cursor.

Using the diagram context menu:

1. In Diagram view, right click on the background.




2. From the context menu, select New > Subject.

Using the use case collaboration context menu:

1. In Diagram view, right click on the use case collaboration element.




2. From the context menu, select New > Subject.

Using the element context menu:

1. In the UML Navigator or UML Explorer view, right click on the use case diagram or use case collaboration element.




2. From the context menu, select New > Subject.
