Creating Activity Partition Elements

To create an activity partition element, choose one of the following methods:

Using the diagram toolbar button:

1. Click the Activity Partition button on the diagram toolbar.




2. Click on the diagram to create the element.




3. Resize the activity partition by dragging the corner of the element to the desired size. The element grows or shrinks in the direction of the cursor.

Using the diagram context menu:

1. In Diagram view, right click on the background.




2. From the context menu, select New > Activity Partition.

Using the element context menu:

1. In the UML Navigator or UML Explorer view, right click on the activity diagram that will contain the new element.




2. From the context menu, select New > Activity Partition.

TIP: When dragging an activity invocation element inside of an activity partition, use the automatic layout feature if the activity partition element is too small to hold the activity invocation. To adjust the size, right click on the diagram background, and select Layout > Layout and Optimize Size.
