View Management allows you to globally control what is shown on the diagram and how. The View Management options can be found on the View Management Preferences page.
To set View Management preferences:
From the menubar, select Window > Preferences. The Preferences dialog opens.
In the options list, expand the Modeling node, and select View Management.
By default, the Diagram view reflects a classic UML modeling view. Modifiers are represented on the diagram in the following ways:
static: members are underlined.
public: members have a '+' symbol before the name.
private: members have a '-' symbol before the name.
protected: members have a '#' symbol before the name.
interface operations: display italicized.
Use Together View Management preferences to show icons on class and package diagrams.
To show icons on class and package diagrams:
From the menubar, select Window > Preferences.
In the options list, expand the Modeling node, and select View Management.
Check Show Icons on Class and Package Diagrams.
Tip: With a diagram open, use the View Management Preferences Apply button to see what the filters do to the diagram. By clicking Apply, the preferences window stays open. Once you click OK, the preferences window will close. Click Restore Defaults to reapply the default view management settings.
