Using the Aggregation Link

An aggregation relationship denotes that one element contains one or more other elements. You can draw an aggregation link between two elements of the same type, between classes and interfaces and vice versa or between two objects.

To create an aggregation link:

  1. Click the Association Link button on the diagram toolbar.

  2. Click the class or interface source element.

  3. Drag the link to the destination class or interface element.

  4. Drop when the second element is highlighted.

  5. Select the link on the diagram, UML Explorer or UML Navigator, and then in the Property View change the link type property from "Association" to "Aggregation".
