The Add Linked dialog is opened from the class and interface context menus. It is available for class and package diagrams, and provides search options for references, implementations, and inheritance according to the specified types and scopes. The search is applicable to a single object or to a group of selected objects.

Mark the types of links to search for in the Search options check boxes. The search can be performed in the Whole project or within a single Package. Specify the depth of a search in the Distance field. Use the Search in classpath option to search for objects in the classpath. Click OK to begin searching. NB: Searching at a distance greater than 1 can slow down the process.

Search results display in the Add linked results view, and refer to the latest search process. If the results contain references for a number of objects, the view allows you to expand a node for a particular search item or for all search items as once. Right click within the view, and select Expand all from the context menu to view all objects. The context menu also allows you to Remove the selected node from the Add linked results view, or add all elements beneath a node as shortcuts to the current diagram. |

| Right clicking on each object in the search results displays a context menu that enables adding selected elements as shortcuts to the current diagram. Links between elements are drawn automatically. You can also choose to remove selected elements from the Add linked results view. | ![]() |
