Branching Message Links

Branching messages start from the same location on the lifeline.

To branch a message to the previous one:

1. Select one of the message links from the sequence diagram toolbar. Choose from either Message , Message with Delivery , or Self-Message .

   
   

2. On the diagram, move the mouse cursor over the start of the message link until you see the branch hint appear on the diagram.

   
   

3. When the branch hint appears, move the mouse over the blue circle of the branch hint until the circle turns green .

   
   

4. Click the left mouse button on the object source element.

   
   

5. Drag the link to the destination object lifeline element.

   
   

6. Drop when the second element becomes highlighted. This creates a new message link starting from the original message link.
