Using the Templates View

You can use the Templates view to open, edit, and create templates. By default, the Templates view contains a list of the predefined templates that Together provides: Java Link, Java Class, and Java Package templates. These templates are stored locally. By associating them with a project, you can share them with your team using VCS.

To open the Templates view:
From the menubar, select Window > Show View > Templates. If Templates is not an option in the menu, select Window > Show View > Other > Together Patterns > Templates.


Creating/Applying Templates

Note that the context menus of templates (Mencken above), template categories (Misc above), and template types (Java Class above) contain a "New" command, allowing you to create a new template. Once created, the template can be modified using a template editor. Once saved, it can be applied using the Apply Pattern Wizard where it will appear as a choice among available patterns.

Working with Projects in the Templates View

After you save a template to a project, the Templates view shows the project and its templates.

NB: The Templates view does not show a project unless you have created a template for that project.
