At times, you may wish to share templates with others on a team. There are
two types of templates in Together:
Local templates, which are stored locally. These are not shared, but can be used to create shared templates.
Project-specific templates. These can be created from local templates and shared via a CVS system.
Local Templates
To use local templates, open the Templates view. Local Templates appears as a project-level listing. Expand it
to view the list of pre-defined templates. You can use the predefined templates
to create your own project-specific templates. You can create templates by choosing
New in the Templates view context menu.
Project-specific Templates
Once you have created a new template, you can save it to your project. If templates
are enabled for this project (see Enabling
Templates) the project now appears in the Templates view along with
Local Templates. You can now share the template with a team in the same way
you would share the project or a piece of the project using CVS.
NB: A project must have at least one template before the project appears
in the Templates view.
Tip: You may wish to create a template directory in your project early in the development process. Use this directory as a place for team members to share templates. To keep this directory hidden in the diagram, include it as an ignored folder in Together preferences.
