Installation of SAP Web Application Server Java 6.40 and SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio
To install the system, you must be logged on to your PC with administrator privileges.
Depending on the resources of your computer, the installation may take up to one hour. Do not interrupt the procedure. The installer will first install the SAP Web Application Server, followed by the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
To keep the installation simple pre-configured settings are provided, anyhow this can be customized for special purposes.
- Before installing SAP Web Application Server and SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, close all applications.
- Check first the system requirements.
- Install SUNs J2SE SDK version 1.4.2_08.
- Start the Installer and choose Run this program from its current location in the upcoming pop-up window.
- In SAPInst, choose Install Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver 2004 and make all the required entries. Depending on your local settings it might happen, that you need to log off and log on again.
- For your convenience and to minimize system resources the server must be started manually using the SAP Management Console:
- find shortcut on your desktop
- open the SAP Management Console
- open SAP Systems node, you will find the installed system (default J2E)
- start the system
