Procedure documentation Resetting User Passwords Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You as administrator can reset passwords of one or many users. Users whose passwords have been reset are asked to change their password the next time they log on. They do not receive a notification e-mail.

Alternatively administrators can change users’ passwords or have a new password generated automatically. In both of these cases, users receive a notification e-mail containing the new password and are prompted to change their password the next time they log on. E-mail notification must be activated, otherwise the users cannot be notified of their new password.

Prerequisites

·        You have the appropriate permissions for user administration.

·        The user management property ume.logon.security_policy.password_change_allowed is set to TRUE (default value). If it is set to FALSE, resetting a user’s password has no effect. See Structure linkSecurity Policy.
