The Enterprise Portal Web Services Checker plug-in provides the functionality to query and test existing Web services. You do this by providing the plug-in with an existing WSDL file. This plug-in enables you to:

·        Create a new tab containing a new SOAP view

·        Close the current SOAP view

·        Fetch the content of the WSDL file specified in the "WSDL URL" field

·        Send the SOAP request currently visible in the "SOAP Request" pane to the Web service endpoint

·        Start your Internet browser and point it to the SOAP Administration page of your portal installation

·        Start your Internet browser and point it to the SOAP log viewer page of your portal installation

·        Save the content of all fields in an XML file

·        Close the Enterprise Portal Web Services view

WSDL Descriptor

This view enables you to browse the content of a WSDL file. You can fetch a WSDL file by entering its URL in the "WSDL URL" field and choosing "Get WSDL content".

The WSDL file will be displayed as a tree. The operations that are available will be presented as child nodes of its corresponding port, which is also represented as a node in the tree. Right-clicking on an operation node will give you the option to create a soap request for this operation:

SOAP Request

This view enables you to browse and change the content of a soap request. Additionally, you can view the xml source of the soap request and modify the HTTP headers that will be used for sending this request.

The SOAP request can be sent using the "Send message" button.

SOAP Response

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

This view displays the response of a previously sent SOAP request. Similar to the SOAP request view, you can either browse the content in a tree, display the XML source of the response or the HTTP headers of the response.
