Function documentation Application Locking Service

Use

The application locking service is the interface for J2EE applications to the locking manager and the enqueue service.

If a J2EE application wants to set or release a lock, it uses the application locking service.

Integration

The architecture of the layers that are built up on each other is described in Structure linkArchitecture of the Locking Service.

The section Structure linkTroubleshooting explains how you look for and solve any problems in the layers.

Prerequisites

See Structure linkLocking Service.

Features

You have the following options for monitoring and testing the application locking service.

·         Use the visual administrator. This is described below.

·         Use the console: see Structure linkAdministration of the Application Locking Service Using the Console

The following functions are available to you in the visual administrator :

·        Open Sessions: All open sessions that can contain locks are displayed.

·        Run Tests: Here you can test the locks at application level. There are functional tests (Execute functional tests) and load tests (Execute load tests).

·        Time Statistics: Here you can read the statistics. The statistics are always active. You can refresh or reset them.
