Scenario 3: Step 12 – Import into the Follow-On Track 

Use

With this step, you import the version of the Technology software component (SC) that you created in the TECHNO track into the APPL track. This makes this version available to the Application software component, so that you can start with the development of Application.

Prerequisites

You have performed the following activities:

·        Development of the Technology SC

·        Created a new version of Technology in the Change Management Service (CMS)

·        Approval of the new Technology version in quality assurance; release of this version for import into the production system

·        The new version Technology is waiting to be imported into the APPL track.

You have logged on to the CMS as user Admin and are in the Transport Studio.

Procedure

 

       1.      Select the APPL track and choose the Development tab. The new version of example.org.Technology is in the import queue with the status Waiting for import.

       2.      Select the software component and choose Import. The CMS imports the new version and sets the status to Import finished.

Result

You have imported a version of the Technology software component into the APPL track, and made it available for the development of the Application software component.

You can now start the development of the Application software component as described in steps 1 through 11 of scenario 3.
