Changing Entity References
When a DC
uses other components, you can here refer to the
entities of the
public parts
of the used DC. You can use this, for example, to make public parts of inner
DCs available outside of their outer DC. This is necessary, because the public
parts of a child component are not automatically propagated to the public
parts of the parent DC. For more information, see
Nesting Development
Components.
You use this procedure in all scenarios that use the component model:
· Scenario 2: Development with Components
· Scenario 2+: Development with a Track
· Scenario 3: Layered Development

1. To propagate an entity of a public part of the used component, choose Add Entity Reference in the context menu of the Entities References node.

The DC, whose entity you want to refer to, must be declared as a Used DC. This also applies it the used DC is an inner DC.
A wizard starts.
2. Under Input Help: Entity References, select the public part of the child component that you want to propagate.
3. Choose Finish.

1. To display the properties of an entity, in the context menu of the entry choose Properties.
...
1. To delete entity references, in the context menu of the entity reference choose Remove Entity Reference.

Other components may need this entity reference and cannot be built without it.
