Use

The Diagram view provides a visual representation of the web.xml file. Here, you can add elements and links. The uses of these elements and links are covered in J2EE Web Components Configuration. For more editing possibilities see Editors for Deployment Descriptors.

Prerequisites

The Web Module project exists. See Creating Web Module Projects and Creating Web Module DC Projects.

Procedure

In the J2EE Explorer, select the Web Application project and choose Open Diagram from the context menu.

The Diagram view displays any elements already in the project.

Adding Web Objects

       1.      In the toolbar, select Web Object.

       2.      Click on an empty part of the page.

       3.      Select the object that you want to add

       4.      Choose OK.

Adding Other Elements

       1.      In the toolbar, select the type of element to be created.

       2.      Click on an empty part of the page.

Adding a Link

       1.      In the toolbar, select the type of link.

       2.      Drag and drop the link on the relevant objects.

Deleting and Object

       1.      Select the object.

       2.      Choose Delete from the context menu.

       3.      In the confirmation dialog, choose OK.

Navigating to an Object in the J2EE View

       1.      In the Diagram view, select the object.

       2.      Choose Select in J2EE View from the context menu.

Leaving content frame
