Purpose

In addition to scenario 2+, scenario 3 gives you the option of connecting tracks, so enabling you to develop applications that are based on each other. Scenario 3 provides you with all functions of the SAP NetWeaver Java Development Infrastructure (JDI).

One typical scenario is the development of complex applications where the various software components are organized in layers. All software components in a particular layer are developed in one track, and then forwarded to a follow-on track where the software components of the next layer are developed. The aim of this process is to provide the follow-on layer with approved high-quality versions of the software components, which in turn improves the stability of the development process.
