Function documentation SDM Repository Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The SDM Repository contains the registered Software Component Archives (SCAs) and Software Deployment Archives (SDAs).

Note

You can use the context menu to hide the archives for which no deployment has been performed yet. Choose Hide Undeployed SCAs/SDAs.

Prerequisites

You have selected the SCAs and SDAs at least once for Deployment with the Software Deployment Manager (SDM).

Scope of Functions

The SDM Repository tab on the initial screen This graphic is explained in the accompanying text gives you an overview of the installed target systems and the archives they contain. The following target systems are possible:

·        File system

·        Database

·        SAP J2EE Engine

When you expand the target systems node, you see the SCAs and SDAs that are assigned to the corresponding target systems.

The following tab pages appear in the right screen when you select a target system:

·        Information

This tab page shows information about the selected target system and its archives.

·        Configuration

The Configuration tab allows you to enter target system-specific information for the target system database and the SAP J2EE Engine. After you have changed the configuration data, save the repository.

Note

This configuration data is created when the SAP Web Application Server (SAP Web AS) is installed. You need to change this data in isolated cases only.

As standard, any security-relevant data of the target systems, such as the User or Password, is stored in the Secure Store of the SAP J2EE Engine. This data is then accessed with the system ID (SID), which you can define in the SDM.

You can find the data about the Secure Store in the Secure Store Configuration entry under This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Configuration of SDM-Repository. You can use the SAP J2EE Engine Config Tool to edit the data of the Secure Store.

For more information, see the SAP Library for SAP Web AS under SAP NetWeaver ® Application Platform (SAP Web Application Server) ® J2EE Technology in SAP Web Application Server® Administration Manual ® Server Administration ® SAP J2EE Engine Administration Tools ® Config Tool.

Note

You only need to enter the required security-relevant access data in the configuration of the target systems if you operate the SDM without Secure Store.

For a description of how to register or deactivate Secure Store in the SDM, see the file SDM_Commandline_en_final.pdf in the directory <sdm home>/doc.
