Managing the log-configuration.xml Source 

You can use the Source tab to write your log-configuration.xml file manually. For more information about the syntax of this file, see log-configuration.dtd in the Reference Manual.

The changes made to this tab immediately affect the contents of the Log Controller, Log Destination, and Log Formatter tabs used for configuration. The inverse option is also available – all configurations that you make in the GUI section immediately affect the contents of the Source tab.

Another option is to paste an already configured (or manually written) log-configuration.xml file and then to use the GUI options provided by the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio to reconfigure it.
