User Data Import
Users, groups, and roles can be uploaded from external systems to SAP User Management Engine (UME) using the import function. First you must export user, group, or role data from the source system into a plain text file. Then you must convert the text file into a format supported by the import function. You can then import the file.

You cannot import users, groups, and roles simultaneously in one import run.
During import, user data is automatically replicated to any connected systems for which replication is configured.
The import function is integrated in the user management administration console.
You have two options for importing users, groups and roles:
· Paste the content of a data file in the text area.
· Upload user, group, or role data from a file. (This is only supported in SAP Enterprise Portal.)

The file size is restricted to 1MB.
In both cases, the data must be in Standard Format. This is the only supported format.
Select Overwrite Existing Data if you wish to overwrite the data for any existing users or groups.
The user or group ID is used to uniquely identify the records in the import data and to match the imported user data with any existing users and groups. If you select Overwrite Existing Data, all fields in the import data will overwrite all existing field values for existing user and group ID’s. No record is kept of previous values.
After you import the data by choosing Import, an import log is displayed. This log indicates the status of the import process at the line item level, and corresponding warnings. More details can be obtained by clicking particular entries in the log. The following possible values apply to the line item status:

CREATED |

FAILED |

UPDATE FAILED |
