User Administration 
The user administrator
performs all tasks that are relevant to user management and role assignments. In SAP Enterprise Portal, all
user management functions related to users and groups are provided by SAP User
Management Engine (UME). The UME is
integrated in the Web Application Server Java and full documentation on the
UME is available in the Web AS Java documentation
under

In this section you can find information about administration functions and features that are specific to the portal. These are
· UME Actions in the Portal – a brief description of how UME actions are integrated in the portal.
· Assigning roles to users and groups
· Mapping users – for Single Sign-On purposes.
Roles are managed by the Portal Content Directory (PCD). For more detailed information on the pre-configured administration roles, see Pre-configured Roles.
