Background documentation Resources in Workspaces

A workspaces contains one active version per development resource. As you keep modifying the development resources, the workspace with every check-in process moves to the newest version of the development resource.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

The figure shows version graphs for three versioned resources in a workspace ‘Dev’. After a series of changes, version 4 of resource1, version 2 of resource2 and version 3 of resource3 are contained in workspace ‘Dev’. Later, some more changes are made to the resources 1 and 2 and versions 5 and 3 are created for them respectively. After these changes, the workspace moves over to include version 5 of resource1, version 3 of resource2 and version 3 of resource3.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

The figure shows a “moving” workspace 'Dev'. You see the different states of a workspace, which contains three resources in different versions. Only one version of each resource is active in the workspace at one point in time, so each state is given by the versions that are active at this moment – this is indicated by the red line.
