Navigation Client Features 

The Enterprise Portal Client Framework (EPCF) contains extensions for the navigation service. Refer to the EPCF description for more details about the client framework and the Enterprise Portal Client Manager (EPCM).

The EPCF extension for the navigation service is divided in following categories:

·        Navigation API

The navigation API provides methods to navigate in the Portal. Every time one of the methods is called, the navigation is started. The navigation model updates the content area and highlights the corresponding nodes in the navigation iViews.

·        WorkProtect

This feature provides the infrastructure for handling unsaved data in stateful applications. Starting the navigation when unsaved data is on the page will open a new window for the new navigation target or open a popup message asking the user to save its data before navigating to the new target.
