Building and Deploying on the Central Test System 

Use

With the build and deployment processes, you compile the developed sources and copy them to the relevant SAP J2EE Engine.

For this process, you can use both the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio or the build and deployment tools you use.

As a build tool we recommend ANT and for the central deployment the Software Deployment Manager (SDM) of the SAP J2EE Engine.

Prerequisites

You have installed a SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio and released the DTR Administrator Plug-In.

You should release the DTR Administration perspective only in those SAP NetWeaver Developer Studios, which are designed to be used for administrative tasks. These are the Developer Studios on the central development test system and on the central consolidation system.

This process is the same for the deployment in the central test system and for the local test on a development machine.

Procedure

To execute the build and deployment, proceed as follows:

       1.      Synchronize the machine of the central test system with the DEV workspace of the DTR.

       2.      Use the description of how to create applications from the Developer Guide to create the deployable archives and select the respective deploy function.

Result

You have deployed the consolidated state of your software changes onto the central test system.
