Procedure documentation Granting Privileges

Use

You grant privileges to users to control their access rights to resources in the DTR.

Caution

Only administrators are meant to grant privileges.

Prerequisites

You have Structure linkcreated a client in the DTR, which displays all folders and files including <root>/system (i.e. it shows the top level).

The DTR Administrator Plug-In is activated. For more information, see Structure linkUsing the DTR Administrator Plug-In.

Procedure

You are in the Repository Browser. To get there, choose Windows ® Show View ® Other... ® Design Time Repository ® Repository Browser or use the default setting of the DTR perspective.

       1.      Open the root directory.

       2.      From the hierarchical presentation, select the node for which you want to grant privileges.

The Permissions view appears. The path of the selected node (development configuration, workspace folder, workspace, directory or file) is included in the titlebar.

       3.      Specify the desired parameters.

                            a.      In the Permissions view, choose Add Principal from the context menu.

                            b.      Select the principal type:

                                                  i.       User

                                                ii.       Group

                                               iii.       ALL

                            c.      Enter a description.

                            d.      Select the privilege type:

                                                  i.       Grant

                                                ii.       Deny

                                               iii.       Final Deny

                            e.      Select the privileges or select a node from which to inherit the privileges.

                              f.      In the Permissions view, choose Save Changes to save the changes locally.

The changes are added to the automatically created activity “ACL Maintenance“.

                            g.      In the Permissions view, choose Activate all Changes to make the changes effective on the server.

       4.      For further changes, choose Edit from the context menu in the Permissions view.
