Prerequisites

See the JDBC Connector Service in the Administration Manual to find out how to connect to databases.

Procedure

...

       1.      Click on the DataSource tab.

       2.      Manage the data source and the additional properties.

       3.      Choose the Add, Modify, Remove buttons to add, modify and remove the data sources from the Data Sources list.

       4.      Save your changes.

Managing the Data Source Properties

...

       1.      Click on the DataSource tab.

       2.      Edit the name of the data source in the Name field.

       3.      Edit the aliases to this data source in the Aliases field:

                                                  i.       To add a new alias, choose the Add button. Enter a name for the alias in the dialog box that appears.

                                                ii.       To remove or edit an alias, select it and use the Remove and Edit buttons.

       4.      Edit the driver name in the Driver Name field.

       5.      In the JDBC Version field, select which version will be supported. You can choose between versions 1.x and 2.0.

       6.      If you chose to support the 1.x version of the JDBC specification, you will have to:

                                                  i.       Set the fully qualified name of the driver’s main class in the Driver Class field.

                                                ii.       Set a value in the Database URL field.

                                               iii.       Set values that you use to log on to the database in the User and Password fields.

       7.      If you chose to support the JDBC 2.0 version, you will have to:

                                                  i.       Set a value in the Object Factory field.

                                                ii.       Choose a value from the DataSource Type combo box.

                                               iii.       Set a value in the CPDS Classname field.

Managing the Additional Properties

       1.      Click on the Additional tab.

       2.      Manage the additional key-value properties of the data source in the. To do this:

                                                  i.       Enter values in the Key and Value fields.

                                                ii.       Use the buttons to add or remove the key-value pairs from the list.

       3.      Manage the connection pooling:

                                                  i.       For the Default Connection Isolation field, see Connection Transaction Isolation in the Administration Manual.

                                                ii.       For the other fields, see Managing Connection Pooling in the Administration Manual.

       4.      Manage the SQL type support. For more information, see SQL Engine in the Administration Manual.
