As soon as a versionable resource (for example, a file) is added to the DTR version control, it becomes a version-controlled resource.

This figure shows the version graph for a resource added to a workspace ‘SoftwareComponent/dev’

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

A first version has been added to a workspace. It's the root version and the active version now. The resource now has exactly one version, to which the workspace points.
