Re: [oc] legal advice

Dear Mr. Lampret,

As an unsolicited favor I am responding to your last post. Firstly I would
like to say that it is unlikely that you will get a legitimate intellectual
property lawyer to respond to your post on this forum. There would far
too much liabilty for that hypothetical individual.

That said, I will give you my own (non-legal) opinion on the letter from
MIPS Technologies. I am an engineer who has worked in the
semiconductor industry over 10 years and I have read the entirety of
the letter from MIPS Technologies. If I were in your position I would
take heed of the items Mr. Kurkowski outlines. MIPS Technologies is
company whose very survival depends, to a great degree, on its ability
and willingness to defend its intellectual property. I would guess very
confidently that if you do not fully comply with MIPS' request you may
be quickly facing legal action against you and OPENCORES.

Just my friendly opinion...

Bob
