Configuring AVM ISDN-Controllers of the B1 family for leased lines and point-to-point ISDN accesses (DDI) ============================================================================= The AVM ISDN-Controllers of the B1 family can be used for leased line connections and at point-to-point ISDN accesses. To use these types of connections, you have to copy the required drivers known as T4 files. Windows XP/2000 Users should use the Windows XP/2000 standard setups. Support for Direct-Dial-In (ISDN DDI) or leased lines is included in these regular setups for Windows XP/2000 (please see readme for more details). Netware users can configure Point-to-Point (option ''P2P") lines directly during the installation of the AVM ISDN-Controller. Windows NT 4.0 users should use the "B1 Server Edition". Please see \CARDWARE\SERVER.B1\ on the ADC for further details. For any other operating system follow the instruction below. Due to binary compatibility of the B1 family, the T4 files can be used with every AVM ISDN-Controller of the B1 family and with every operating system. Please perform the following steps to configure an AVM ISDN-Controller of the B1 family for leased line connections and at point-to-point ISDN accesses. 1. Install your ISDN-Controller according to the instructions in the corresponding manual. Select the DSS1 as the D-channel protocol. 2. Replace the installed B1.T4 file with the respective file for leased lines or point-to-point accesses (see below). 3. Load the controller software as usual. L e a s e d L i n e s The CAPI 2.0 2nd edition published in 1998 clarifies the use of leased lines in general. Newer applications can address leased lines directly through a standard point-to-multipoint driver. Therefore, simply use the installation for your AVM ISDN-Controller for leased lines. Special AVM drivers for leased line connections are still available for older CAPI 2.0 applications. They can also be used for leased lines in Novell NetWare networks with an NetWare MultiProtocol Router for ISDN v3.1 before (!) Revision 10. The required files for leased lines of the following types - 1 B channel (1x64 Kbps) - 2 B channels (2x64 Kbps) - 1 B channel and 1 D channel (1x64 Kbps + 1x16 Kbps) - 2 B channels and 1 D channel (2x64 Kbps + 1x16 Kbps) can be found in the following directory: \CARDWARE\B1\X_MISC\DS01 and \CARDWARE\B1\X_MISC\D64S The files for leased lines with 1 B channel (1x64 Kbps) can also be used for leased lines with 2 B channels (2x64 Kbps). Please note that your CAPI application software must support leased lines. For further information refer to the manual or ask the manufacturer of the capi application. P o i n t - T o - P o i n t L i n e s: The files for operation at a point-to-point access (DDI) can be found in the following directory: \CARDWARE\B1\X_MISC\DDI B1.T4 supports DSS-1 [EURO-ISDN] and B1tr6.T4 supports 1TR6 lines (older German D-channel standard by Deutsche Telekom AG).
