--------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the errata file for the Beta7 distribution.

I'll post any problems/updates with the Beta7 in this file. Please
read this file before reporting bugs against Beta7, to make sure that
you are not reporting a problem that is already known.

If you find a bug in the FreeDOS Beta7, please do not email me
directly. Instead, please post a bug in the FreeDOS Bugtrack database
(please search for your bug first - try to avoid entering a duplicate
bug.)  See http://www.freedos.org/bugs/

COMMONLY MIS-IDENTIFIED AS BUGS:

* Floppy access under the FreeDOS kernel is still a little slow. The
  installation will take longer than you may expect, and running
  programs from the Install Boot Floppy is slow.

* The GUI disk set only includes SEAL. I didn't have enough time to
  include the other systems with this disk set. Sorry.

* The NET disk set is not included. Rather than inflict a half-baked
  set into the distribution, I have decided not to include the NET.

THINGS THAT ARE BROKEN:

* Refer to bugtrack for bugs reports.

* The kernel included should be updated before attempting
  to install to small partition sizes (usually less than 128MB),
  otherwise install will fail, usually accompanied by directory
  corruption.

PACKAGES TO UPDATE:
(get from http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/)

* Due to an oversight on my part (Jeremy), Joe Cosentino's Start program
  was not included in the utility diskset. I apologize for this
  mistake. Ripcord Beta 7 H1 includes an updated utility diskset.
  Start may be downloaded from http://www.geocities.com/xsaintx69/freedos/

* Fdisk 1.0 RC 2 released 9/21/2001

* Kernel 2025 released 9/26/2001

* Tree 3.7.1 released 10/16/2001 (updated command line parsing only)
