Background: Security (cont.)
I must emphasize that absolute security is not an attainable goal, nor is it the purpose of this presentation. My charter is to provide ideas for reasonably secure Linux installations.
In my experience, security times usability (user friendliness) is a constant. The only truly secure computer is one that is unplugged from the network, powered down, packed in concrete and fired into the Sun. But at that point, it isn't very usable, is it?
