Prior to version 68.0, a server-side request forgery (SSRF) protection bypass exists in WeasyPrint's `default_url_fetcher`. The vulnerability allows attackers to access internal network resources (such as `localhost` services or cloud metadata endpoints) even when a developer has implemented a custom `url_fetcher` to block such access. This occurs because the underlying `urllib` library follows HTTP redirects automatically without re-validating the new destination against the developer's security policy. Version 68.0 contains a patch for the issue.","title":"CVE description"}],"product_status":{"recommended":["openSUSE Leap 16.0:python313-weasyprint-65.1-bp160.2.1.noarch"]},"references":[{"category":"external","summary":"CVE-2025-68616","url":"https://www.suse.com/security/cve/CVE-2025-68616"},{"category":"external","summary":"SUSE Bug 1256936 for CVE-2025-68616","url":"https://bugzilla.suse.com/1256936"}],"remediations":[{"category":"vendor_fix","details":"To install this SUSE Security Update use the SUSE recommended installation methods like YaST online_update or \"zypper patch\".\n","product_ids":["openSUSE Leap 16.0:python313-weasyprint-65.1-bp160.2.1.noarch"]}],"scores":[{"cvss_v3":{"baseScore":7.5,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","version":"3.1"},"products":["openSUSE Leap 16.0:python313-weasyprint-65.1-bp160.2.1.noarch"]}],"threats":[{"category":"impact","date":"2026-01-20T23:40:26Z","details":"important"}],"title":"CVE-2025-68616"}]}
