Wml - HTML generation toolkit

WML is a free and extensible Webdesigner's off-line HTML generation toolkit consisting of a control frontend driving up to nine backends in a sequential pass-oriented filtering scheme: WML reads an input file, applies passes 1-9 (or optionally only the passes specified) and finally produces one or more output files. Each backend provides one particular core language.

For maximum power WML ships with a set of include files which provide higher-level features built on top of the backends core languages. You can write your own custom HTML tagsets for WML to extend its functionality for your particular needs. So, whatever HTML tag you want (and WML not already provides), you just can program it yourself in Perl. WML is not a closed toolbox, but rather the core upon which you can base your HTML generation environment.

WML provides most of the core features real hackers want for HTML generation. It is intended for HTML generation under UNIX, for large areas (as opposed to single Web pages), and for those who want to use their favorite programming features while generating HTML.
