The algorithm used for pruning is based on an exponential, Gaussian
(normal), or Fibonacci distribution, and provides fine control of the
files to delete and allows the retention of recent copies and
increasingly aggressive pruning of older files. The retention schedule
specifies the age intervals for which files will be retained.
